Dennis and his wife Martha along with two of their four children moved from Dayton, Ohio, to Fort Myers, Florida, in July, 1984. He worked as a regional sales manager in central Florida for West Publishing, now Thomson-Reuters. He retired in December of 2001. Since his retirement he has written and published a booktitled Just Call Me Jane.
Dennis presently volunteers for the South West Florida Coalition Against Human Trafficking. He is the Vice President of the Coalition and has trained over four thousand (4000) people in addition to eight hundred fifty (850) first responders, (Fire Fighters and EMS), the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, the Lee County Dental Society, and the Lee County Medical Society, in the area of Human Trafficking. Dennis has been directly responsible for the rescue of two children and indirectly responsible for the rescue of several others. In 2018 The Coalition awarded Dennis with the volunteer of the year award.
